Netflix announced today that actor Byeon Woo-seok has been cast as Sung Jinwoo in the live-action adaptation of Solo Leveling. Byeon has previously starred in live-action adaptations such as 20th Century Girl (2022) and Lovely Runner (2024).
The press release states that Lee Hae-jun and Kim Byung-seo are co-directing the series, with Kako Entertainment and SANAI PICTURES producing.
Other details, such as the rest of the cast and the planned premiere date, remain under wraps. The live-action adaptation was initially announced for January 2025.

The first season of Solo Leveling was directed by Shunsuke Nakashige at A-1 Pictures. The anime is an adaptation of the Korean webtoon of the same name by DUBU (REDICE Studio), Chugong, and h-goon. The webtoon was initially available in France on piccoma until its closure. The webtoon is now available on ONO, and the print version is available through Delcourt Publishing’s Kbooks imprint.
